Rheology of Biological Systems

چکیده
It seems clear therefore that a student of physiology could best use this book in conjunction with a bigger book that is both more detailed and more current. The advantage of this book is that it is short enough that one can retain perspective. A quite amazingly current bonus that comes with the book is its sophisticated introduction to S. I. metric units of measurement. It foretells and helps prepare us for the day when we will not only think of a standard person as weighing 70 kilograms and having a blood volume of 5 liters, but also as being 1.75 meters tall, having a body temperature of 310 Kelvin, eating 12 megajoules per day and having an arterial blood pressure of 10.7/16 kilopascals.

Optimization of Cement Spacer Rheology Model Using Genetic Algorithm (RESEARCH NOTE)
The primary cement job is a critical step in successful well completion. To achieve effective cementing job, complete mud removal from the annular is recommended. Spacer and flushers are used widely to achieve this goal. This study is about weighted cement spacer systems containing a surfactant package, weighting agent and rheological modifiers. Weighted spacer systems are utilized when a high ...

متن کاملEvaluation and Correction for Optical Scattering Variations in Laser Speckle Rheology of Biological Fluids
Biological fluids fulfill key functionalities such as hydrating, protecting, and nourishing cells and tissues in various organ systems. They are capable of these versatile tasks owing to their distinct structural and viscoelastic properties. Characterizing the viscoelastic properties of bio-fluids is of pivotal importance for monitoring the development of certain pathologies as well as engineer...

متن کاملFundamental Rheology of Disperse Systems Based on Single-Particle Mechanics
A comprehensive review of the fundamental rheology of dilute disperse systems is presented. The exact rheological constitutive equations based on rigorous single-particle mechanics are discussed for a variety of disperse systems. The different types of inclusions (disperse phase) considered are: rigid-solid spherical particles with and without electric charge, rigid-porous spherical particles, ...
متن کاملControl of stability/flocculation and rheology of concentrated suspensions
The various interaction forces that govern the stability/flocculation of concentrated suspensions are briefly described. Combination of these interactions result in three main energy-distance curves which determine the final state of the suspension. This ranges from colloidally stable to strongly flocculated (coagulated) suspensions. A schematic representation of the various states of suspensio...
